John Buchhalter is an Executive Vice President at Parkview Financial. He joined in 2020 and has led the firm’s Atlanta office since 2021. John is an integral part of the construction team and is responsible for reviewing borrowers’ budgets, schedule of values, constructability reviews, and cost estimates during the underwriting phase. He also visits approved projects and meets with borrowers to go over draw requests in all phases over the duration of the loan.
Prior to joining Parkview, John worked in the specialty alloys industry spanning 14 years. He started out as an engineer working on numerous projects with responsibilities consisting of cost savings, quality improvements, and product development across various types of production environments and manufacturing equipment. Eventually, John took a role in management where he was a laboratory supervisor overseeing the operations of three different departments before being promoted to lab manager, responsible for the daily operations of more 90 employees across five departments. During his tenure in the specialty alloys industry, John worked on projects that included electrical, structural, plumbing, vacuum, pressure, cooling, and heating systems.
John is trained and/or certified in various international or private quality systems including ISO, NADCAP, Boeing, GE, and Airbus. All of these specialized skills have been advantageous in his role at Parkview.
John received a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania and a Master’s degree in Materials Engineering from USC.
John lives in North-Central Georgia with his wife and four children. Outside of work, he spends his time working on projects around the home. John enjoys the outdoors, traveling with his family, golfing, mountain biking, and hiking with his family.
