Max Ozkural serves Director, Capital Markets & Investor Relations at Parkview Financial and is based in the firm’s New York office. Max leads capital formation for Parkview’s real estate credit platform by leveraging the vast network of relationships he’s cultivated across institutional investors, family offices, RIA’s, and HNWI’s to raise equity for capital investments in the firm’s bridge and construction first-lien loan syndications. In addition to capital raising activities, Max is responsible for overseeing investor relations by keeping partners engaged and up to date on investment activity. Embracing the firm’s cohesive culture, Max works closely with originations and underwriting teams to align investor appetite with Parkview's lending pipeline to inspire symmetrical investor capital preferences with origination’s deployment opportunities.
Over his career, Max has raised more than $450 million in equity and has been involved in the capitalization and management of nearly $1 billion in real estate private equity assets. He has also led and contributed to transaction origination exceeding $10 billion in total volume.
Prior to joining Parkview, Max served as Principal & Chief Investment Officer of SM Capital, Inc., a private family office, where he structured and executed complex debt and equity financings for commercial real estate transactions, while also performing key roles in fundraising and capital strategy for the firm’s discretionary credit funds and real estate syndications. Ultimately, Max was awarded a minority equity stake in the form of General Partner (GP) participation, for raising substantial equity capital from Limited Partners (LPs) he sourced.
Max began his career in investment banking, including roles at Oppenheimer & Co. (OPY), in the Alternative Investments Group (AIG) where he focused, private credit and real estate private equity funds as well as non-traded REITs. Before that, he was part of the AllianceBernstein Holding L.P. (AB) U.S. Commercial Real Estate Debt (CRED) team, where he assisted in the underwriting and origination of commercial real estate loans and evaluated investment opportunities across multiple asset classes and markets.
Max holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Finance from Hofstra University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Columbia Business School.
Outside his professional work, Max is the Founder & Editor of REI Market Research, a platform focused on proprietary real estate capital market insights and analysis. He is also active in community initiatives and serves on the boards of several nonprofit organizations.
